Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has significantly reduced LNG prices. The new prices will be applicable to the Sui Northern and Sui Southern systems.
According to the latest decision of OGRA, the price of LNG for the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) system has been reduced by $6.81 per MMBTU. After this reduction, the new price has been fixed at $19.03 per MMBTU.
Earlier, the price of LNG for Sui Northern was $25.84 per MMBTU. Thus, the new decision has reduced this rate by about 26 percent.
LNG has also been made cheaper for the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) system. Its price has been reduced by $6.95 per MMBTU. The new price has been fixed at $18.13 per MMBTU, while the previous rate was $25.08.
The reduction in prices for both systems amounts to about 27 percent. The reduction ratio for Sui Southern is higher and it is about 27.71 percent.
