The Speaker said that the government wants to make a law that, along with establishing law and order, also fully protects civil liberties and fundamental human rights. He said that various quarters, including the opposition, have submitted suggestions and objections in this regard, which are being seriously considered.

Other public issues were also discussed during the session. The assembly members stressed the need for increasing water reserves, eliminating drugs in educational institutions and having an effective system of local governments.

The House unanimously passed resolutions on the water crisis, the anti-drug campaign in educational institutions and making the Punjab Assembly completely digital. The Speaker said that the adoption of digital systems has significantly reduced government expenditure.

At the end of the meeting, Fateha was offered for the children who died when the roof of a private tuition academy collapsed in the Kahna area of Lahore, while the chief minister was appealed to to provide all possible financial assistance to the affected families and the best medical facilities to the injured.
