Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif vows to take strict action against human trafficking


ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has paid tribute to the officers of the FIA and the Intelligence Bureau on the arrest of the ringleader of a gang involved in human trafficking and appreciated their performance.
The Prime Minister said that human trafficking is a heinous crime, due to which countless innocent lives have been lost.

Describing the arrest of the Jaja gang as a major success, he said that the elements involved in this criminal racket have damaged the image of Pakistan, which cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the government will take all possible steps to eradicate human trafficking, and strict action will continue against it. He said that Pakistan had faced global notoriety due to the elements involved in this crime, but effective action by the relevant institutions would help restore the country’s dignity.
The Prime Minister lauded the services of the organisations fighting against human trafficking and said that their tireless hard work and dedication have brought laurels to the country. He also announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh and shields for the best performing officers and directed that a more effective strategy be adopted to completely eradicate this crime.
