Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman strongly criticized the government and asked questions on inflation and tax system

Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman strongly criticised the government’s policies and unfair system of taxation, saying that the general salaried class pays Rs 500 billion in taxes, while the ruling class pays only Rs 5 billion, which is the worst injustice.
Addressing an Iftar party in Karachi, he said the situation in the country was constantly deteriorating and the people were burdened with inflation and unemployment due to the government’s failed policies. He termed the Jaffar Express tragedy as a failure of the government and said that the state has failed to protect the lives and property of the people.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that MQM was imposed on Karachi through Form 47 in a fake manner, and the same game is being played across the country. According to him, as long as such political tactics are used, there will be no stability in the country.
He said that due to inflation and unemployment, it has become difficult for the middle class to bear the educational expenses of their children, while health facilities are also out of reach of the people. He said that the government should provide affordable and quality education and treatment facilities, which is the primary responsibility of the state.
Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami said that the bandits and other criminal groups of Sindh were looting the people, but the government remained a helpless spectator.
He also criticised the government’s energy policy, saying that 2,000 billion rupees were paid to IPPs in the last year, although electricity was not generated. He warned that as the heat increases, the price of electricity will be increased further, which will burden the common citizen.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman demanded the government remove the unjustified taxes in electricity bills and withdraw the Rs 70 per litre petrol levy immediately so that the people can get relief.
