Lahore Market Committee Issues New Poultry and Egg Rates for Tuesday

LAHORE: The Market Committee Lahore on Tuesday released the official retail price list for chicken and eggs, effective April 21, 2026. The new rates aim to stabilize the local market and provide transparency for consumers across the provincial capital.

According to the official notification, the farm gate rate for live broiler chicken has been fixed at Rs. 355 per kg, while the wholesale rate stands at Rs. 369 per kg. In the retail market, live broiler chicken is being sold at Rs. 383 per kg. For consumers purchasing clean meat, the price for broiler chicken meat (retail) has been set at Rs. 555 per kg.

The price of eggs has also seen a structured adjustment. A crate (Peti) of farm eggs is priced at Rs. 7,260 for wholesale, while the retail price for a dozen farm eggs is now Rs. 246.

The Department of Consumer Protection, Government of Punjab, has urged citizens to report any overcharging. Complaints can be registered via the official toll-free helpline at 0800-02345. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against vendors failing to display the official rate list or charging above the notified prices.
