Is the news of smart lockdown in Pakistan true or false? Latest details have emerged

Islamabad: The news circulating on social media regarding the implementation of smart lockdown across the country has created concern among the public, however, government sources have issued an important clarification in this regard.

According to reports, the government of Pakistan has not yet officially announced any kind of smart lockdown across the country. Top officials have clarified that no final decision has been taken regarding closing markets, implementing a hybrid system in offices, or banning public activities.

On the other hand, there are reports that the government is considering various measures in view of the growing energy and fuel crisis, including a limited “smart lockdown”. Under this proposed plan, proposals to reduce the working hours of markets, impose restrictions on marriage halls and introduce a partial online system in offices are under consideration.

According to government sources, consultations are still underway in this regard and opinions are being sought from the provinces before any decision is taken. Partial restrictions on a weekly basis are also being considered, however, no final announcement has been made in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Information has called the notification of a “complete lockdown” circulating on social media fake and appealed to the public not to believe unverified news and get information only from authentic sources.

Experts say that in the current situation, the government is considering measures that can reduce energy consumption without affecting the economy, however, no official decision to implement a smart lockdown has been made yet.
