Islamabad: Amid the ongoing military tensions between Iran and the US, both countries have made claims of new operations against each other, while the situation in the Gulf region continues to be the centre of global attention.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has said that its military operations will continue in response to the alleged aggression against the country. Iranian officials say the armed forces are ready to respond appropriately to any new developments.

On the other hand, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in its statement that US forces targeted multiple Iranian military targets, including operations centres, naval facilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities and logistics infrastructure. According to US officials, the aim of these operations is to ensure the security of international maritime trade in the region.

Centcom claimed that over the past few months, many commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz have been threatened, but despite this, the important shipping lane remains open for international trade activities. According to the US military, it has provided assistance to the safe movement of hundreds of commercial ships since May.

Meanwhile, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Iranian military has claimed that it carried out drone attacks on the US military base Camp Doha in Kuwait, targeting weapons storage areas and logistics equipment. However, this claim could not be independently verified.

Iranian officials say that this action was taken in response to recent US military activities, while they also reiterated their determination that any new action will be responded to.

On the other hand, US officials did not immediately issue a detailed response to Iran’s latest claims in this regard.

According to analysts, due to the ongoing tension in the Gulf region, not only regional security but also the global energy market and maritime trade are being closely monitored. The claims of both countries are not fully verified by independent sources, so the situation may change continuously.
