Electricity cheaper, consumers happy: NEPRA gives relief of 55 billion

Islamabad: NEPRA has approved a reduction of Rs 1.89 per unit in the electricity price in the quarterly adjustment for April to June 2025, which will be implemented from August.

This decision has been sent to the federal government, after which the consumers of all distribution companies, including K-Electric, will pay cheaper electricity bills for three months. This reduction will result in a financial benefit of Rs 55 billion 87 crore.

On the other hand, except for Karachi, electricity has been made cheaper by another 78 paise per unit in the monthly adjustment for June 2025 in the rest of the country. A notification from NEPRA has been issued.
