Lahore – The National Disaster Management Authority has warned that the temperature is likely to be higher than normal in the months of May and June, in view of which instructions have been issued to the relevant institutions to take precautionary measures.
According to the institution, provincial and district disaster management authorities, health institutions and other relevant departments should prepare in advance to deal with the heat wave.
There has also been an emphasis on running public awareness campaigns and encouraging people to take protective measures.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the heat intensity may continue in the coming days.
The NDMA has directed that special centers be set up for the treatment of heat stroke and the capacity of hospitals be increased.
Educational institutions have also been instructed to take necessary measures to protect students from the heat.
The institution has advised citizens to avoid going out during hot hours of the day, drink plenty of water and wear light clothes.
It has also been instructed to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms of heat stroke appear.
