Islamabad: The rhetoric between Pakistan Peoples Party and Muslim League (N) has intensified. PPP’s central spokesperson Shazia Marri, while talking to the media outside the parliament, said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s statements are against national unity. She said that we formed a government with PML-N for a democratic system, but unfortunately Maryam Nawaz is fueling hatred and differences.
Shazia Marri said that such statements during a major challenge like floods are harmful to the country. She said that water and air belong to Pakistan, not to any one province. She claimed that the Punjab government is seen standing against its own federal government.
Meanwhile, Punjab government spokesperson Uzma Bukhari reacted strongly to the PPP and said that Punjab has the first right to Punjab’s resources and water. She said that the PPP leaders are trying to revive dead politics on the media.
Uzma Bukhari further said that the same family has been ruling Sindh for two decades but the people have not been given any significant facilities. She said that Maryam Nawaz will raise her voice for the rights of the people of Punjab and if the PPP cannot stand with Punjab by staying in Punjab, then the paths are different.
