New Delhi: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Iran and the United States have not failed yet, but the talks are going through a very difficult phase. He said that the main reason for this impasse is the behaviour of the United States and the deep distrust between Tehran and Washington.

Addressing a press conference in the Indian capital New Delhi, Abbas Araqchi said that Iran has always preferred diplomacy, but in the current situation, the lack of trust is complicating the negotiation process. He said that there is a serious deadlock in the ongoing negotiations with the United States on the issue of uranium enrichment.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, expressing gratitude for Russia’s offer to transfer enriched uranium, said that Iran is not currently considering transferring its enriched uranium abroad. He said that this issue is related to Iran’s sovereignty and national security, so Tehran is adopting a very cautious strategy in this regard.

Abbas Araqchi said that Iran is not responsible for the tension in the Strait of Hormuz, but the aggressive policies of the United States. He made it clear that until the United States ends its aggression, tensions in the region may persist. He said that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all countries that are not involved in war or aggression against Iran.

Referring to the targeting of US military bases in the United Arab Emirates, he said that operations were carried out from these bases against Iran, to which Iran took defensive measures in response. Abbas Araqchi claimed that Israel and the United States failed to provide full protection to the United Arab Emirates.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that Iran does not trust the United States and this is the biggest obstacle to any diplomatic progress. However, he also made it clear that Iran does not want to close the door to talks and that a solution to the conflict is possible if serious diplomatic efforts are made.

He said that Iran is ready for both war and a diplomatic solution, but Tehran wants lasting peace in the region. According to him, the only solution to the ongoing tension between the United States and Iran is negotiations.

Abbas Araqchi praised China’s role and said that Beijing has played an important diplomatic role in the past, especially in restoring relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He said that Iran’s relations with China are very strong and strategic.

He said that Iran would welcome China’s support for the negotiation process in the future. He expressed hope that if positive progress is made through diplomatic efforts, maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will be completely safe and normal.

According to political analysts, Abbas Araqchi’s statement shows hope for a diplomatic solution despite the growing tension in the region. Experts say that mediation efforts by Pakistan, China and other regional countries can play an important role in the futur
