The federal government has increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.29 per litre while maintaining the existing petrol rate for the next three days, according to an official notification.
Following the revision, the new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs402.96 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs400.67.
Petrol prices, however, remain unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre, providing temporary relief to motorists using petrol-powered vehicles.
According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) notification, the revised petroleum prices will remain effective until November 2.
The increase in diesel prices is significant for the transport and agriculture sectors, where diesel is widely used in heavy vehicles, goods transportation and agricultural machinery. Higher fuel costs can add to operating expenses and potentially increase pressure on transportation and commodity prices.
The latest adjustment comes amid continued fluctuations in domestic fuel prices, with international petroleum market trends and import costs remaining important factors in determining local rates.
