Lahore: The federal government has significantly increased the prices of petroleum products and issued new prices of petrol, high-speed diesel and kerosene. According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will be applicable from 12 midnight tonight.

According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 13.18 per liter, after which the new price has been set at Rs 310.71 per liter. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs 13.80 per liter, after which diesel will be available at Rs 323.30 per liter.

According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of kerosene has also been increased by Rs 11.19 per liter. After this increase, the new official price of kerosene has been set at Rs 242.33 per liter.

According to government sources, the prices of petroleum products are determined by taking into account international crude oil prices, import costs, exchange rates and related taxes and levies. After the implementation of the new prices, there is a possibility of an increase in the operating costs of transport, logistics and other sectors, which may also have an impact on the prices of various consumer goods.

According to economists, the increase in fuel prices not only increases travel costs but can also affect industrial production, agricultural activities and the delivery of essential goods. They say that the impact of these new prices on the inflation trend will also be assessed in the coming weeks.
