Karachi: The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has released the latest cement consumption figures for September, according to which a significant increase in cement demand has been recorded in the country.
According to the announcement, the total cement consumption during September 2025 increased by 7 percent to 42.50 lakh tons. Domestic market consumption alone increased significantly by 14.38 percent and was recorded at 34.18 lakh tons, while exports decreased by 15.25 percent to 8.31 lakh tons.
The report said that the cement sector also showed strong performance during the first quarter of the financial year. Domestic consumption increased by 15.08 percent to 95.73 lakh tons, while exports increased by 21 percent to 25.89 lakh tons.
An APCMA spokesperson said that cement consumption may increase further with the start of construction activities in the flood-affected areas of the country. He said that if the government eases duties and taxes on cement, this sector will not only support construction but also significantly increase exports.
