KARACHI – The USD to PKR exchange rate is remaining stable on Thursday, 07 May 2026, as Pakistan’s financial and trade sectors continue monitoring foreign currency movement amid ongoing import and export activity.

In the open market, the US dollar is being bought at Rs 279.05 and sold at Rs 279.80. In the interbank market, the dollar is being traded at Rs. 278.60 for buying and Rs. 279.10 for selling.

The US dollar continues holding a key position in Pakistan’s economy due to its direct link with international trade, petroleum imports, and external debt payments. The current exchange rate trend is supporting commercial planning for businesses dependent on imported goods and raw materials.

Pakistan’s export sector and overseas remittances are also contributing to currency stability, while industrial and manufacturing sectors continue observing exchange rate fluctuations closely for cost management and future transactions.
