ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a comprehensive and historic martyrdom package for the security personnel and civilians martyred and injured as a result of Indian aggression. He said the construction of affected houses and mosques will be the responsibility of the federal government, and this work will be completed on priority.

The Prime Minister assured on the occasion that the education and upbringing of the children of the martyrs is the responsibility of the state, which will be fulfilled at all costs. He said the full salary and all allowances would be provided to the family till the date of retirement of the martyrs. So that the financial burden does not fall on their families.

In addition, the entire cost of treatment of the injured personnel will be borne by the federal government, and they will be given financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh, which is a recognition of their sacrifices. He made it clear that a marriage grant of Rs 10 lakh would be given for the marriage of the daughters of the martyrs, while the children of the martyrs would be provided free education till graduation. – A step that shows the progress towards a welfare state at the national level.

The Prime Minister announced to confer state awards to those who sacrificed their lives in the defence of the country and said that recognition of their services would be made a part of the national narrative. He also announced that May 10 every year will be observed as “Haqqani Day,” and every Friday has been declared as a day to pay tribute to the Pakistan Army. It will be an expression of national solidarity and public appreciation of military service.

This package is not only financial support. There is also a symbolic message that the state does not forget its heroes. The announcement will promote synergy between Pakistan’s military leadership and the civilian government, and further strengthen the national security narrative.
