Tehran – Iran’s Foreign Ministry has firmly refuted claims that the country agreed to transfer its enriched uranium abroad, with spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stating that such a move was never an option and will not happen.
The clarification comes after reports circulating that the United States might retrieve enriched uranium from Iran — assertions Tehran has rejected as inaccurate.
Baghaei highlighted that Tehran’s enriched uranium remains under its control and stressed that maintaining these materials domestically aligns with Iran’s strategic and sovereign interests.
He reiterated that no deal, formal or informal, exists regarding the export of Iranian enriched uranium, countering comments suggesting otherwise.
The denial underscores Iran’s continued insistence on preserving its nuclear capabilities within its borders and rejecting external pressures on how to handle its nuclear stockpile.
