ISLAMABAD: In a major move to overcome the winter gas shortage, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has implemented a new schedule under which domestic gas supply has been restricted to three time slots per day.
Under the revised plan, gas will be supplied from 5:30 am to 08:30 am, 11:30 am to 01:30 pm and 05:30 pm to 08:30 pm. During the remaining hours, supply is expected to remain limited or completely suspended to maintain system pressure.
A spokesperson for SNGPL said that the decision is aimed at ensuring fair and equitable access to domestic consumers across the country. Citizens are encouraged to arrange cooking and domestic consumption as per the updated schedule.
The company added that the timing schedule may be revised in case of improvement in supply or unexpected changes in weather. Authorities have also issued a reminder to avoid misuse of gas and report any unauthorized connections or gas theft to protect the system during the winter.
