Lahore: The spokesperson of the Punjab government has said that historic steps were taken for peace and order and cleanliness in Muharram. A large contingent of police and Rangers was deployed for the security of the processions and gatherings, and security gates were installed at the entrance and exit routes.
He said that under the Clean Punjab campaign, special cleaning, relocation of electrical wires, and removal of obstacles were carried out. For the first time, cyber patrolling and a 24-hour monitoring control room were established. The procession routes were cooled by sprinkling water, and food and medical facilities were provided to the mourners.
