Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announces that collection of electricity bills in flood-affected areas will be stopped


Islamaba: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken an important decision regarding electricity bills while giving a big relief package to the flood-hit people. In a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, it was decided that electricity bills for August 2025 will not be collected in the flood-hit areas.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister immediately instructed the electricity distribution companies not to collect August bills from flood-hit consumers. He said that adjustments will be made next month for consumers from whom these bills have already been received so that immediate relief is provided to the people.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the floods have put millions of Pakistanis in serious difficulties, in such circumstances the government is taking all possible steps to alleviate their suffering. He added that a detailed package regarding electricity bills will also be announced after the negotiations with the IMF are completed.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif clarified that federal and provincial agencies are fully active for the rescue and rehabilitation of the victims. He expressed his determination that the government will not rest on its laurels until all the affected families return to their homes.
