PDMA warns of severe weather, rain and storm alert from May 27 to 31

Lahore: There is a possibility of wind, dusty winds and rain in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 27 to 31, in view of which the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to the administration of all districts. According to the Meteorological Department, intermittent rain with thunder is expected in different areas.

In Punjab, several districts including Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan may be affected. While in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Swat, Mansehra, Dir, Peshawar, Charsadda, Kurram, Waziristan, Bajaur and other areas are also expected to experience an increase in weather intensity.

PDMA has issued instructions to the relevant agencies to ensure the provision of small and large machinery, stay away from dilapidated buildings, and citizens to adopt safety measures. Farmers have been specifically advised to organize their agricultural activities keeping in mind the weather conditions.

Citizens have been urged to stay away from trees, poles, and signboards in the event of wind and storm and take shelter in safe places.
