LAUSANNE (Pakistans Observer) — US Vice President JD Vance has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East and termed the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as commendable. He said that establishing peace in the region is America’s top priority and Pakistan’s positive diplomatic efforts to achieve this goal are being recognised globally.
The US Vice President was welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir upon his arrival at the conference hall on the occasion of the Lake Lausanne Summit. In a conversation on the occasion, JD Vance praised Pakistan’s leadership and said that the prime minister and the field marshal have played an important role in the recent diplomatic progress.
He described Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as an excellent military leader and said that Pakistan’s leadership not only played an effective role in promoting peace in the region but also adopted a responsible approach in complex regional issues. According to him, the international community is appreciating these efforts of Pakistan.
The US Vice President said that the US wants to use all possible diplomatic means to establish lasting peace in the Middle East. He expressed the hope that Iran will also play its role in reducing tensions in the region and for positive developments. He said that positive progress has been made on important issues during the last few hours, which can form the basis for better results in the future.
JD Vance, expressing concern over the situation in Lebanon, said that US President Donald Trump is making continuous diplomatic efforts to end the tension and ensure a ceasefire. He said that encouraging progress has been made in this regard during the last two days.
He added that President Trump has instructed the US diplomatic team to adopt a negotiated path to resolve several global disputes. According to him, the real question is whether relations in the Middle East can be given a positive direction on a permanent basis so as to provide a stable and secure environment for future generations.
The US Vice President, while mentioning the ongoing technical talks between Iran and the US, said that these contacts, mediated by Pakistan, can strengthen the prospects for peace in the region. He stressed that constructive dialogue is the best way to resolve conflicts.
According to political observers, the recent statements of the US vice president reflect Pakistan’s growing diplomatic role. Experts say that if the negotiation process continues in this manner, the prospects for reducing tensions in the Middle East may become brighter.
