Pakistan’s Mobile Phone Imports Hit Rs 406 Billion in 9 Months

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s appetite for mobile communication continues to grow as the country imported mobile handsets worth Rs 406.38 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (FY 2025-26).

According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the month of March 2026 alone saw imports worth Rs 41.70 billion. This indicates a solid year-on-year growth of 14.28% compared to March 2025. Despite the annual increase, the monthly figures showed a slight dip of 4.26% compared to February 2026, when imports stood at Rs 43.56 billion.

Economic experts suggest that while the annual growth reflects high demand, the monthly fluctuation might be attributed to supply chain adjustments or exchange rate variations.
