ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a high-level telephonic conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday night to discuss the evolving regional situation and the promotion of peace and stability.
According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi, the two leaders exchanged views on the overall regional landscape and the ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions. Pakistan apprised the Iranian side of its proactive diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue between conflicting parties.
During the exchange, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s “constructive role” and “sincere mediation efforts” in the region. He noted that Islamabad’s engagement has been pivotal in maintaining channels of communication.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Ishaq Dar emphasised that a sustainable and lasting solution to regional issues is only achievable through diplomacy. “Dialogue remains the only viable path forward,” Dar remarked, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to regional harmony.
The conversation concluded with both leaders vowing to continue joint efforts for regional stability and to further solidify the diplomatic bond between Islamabad and Tehran.
