Islamabad: According to astronomers, the moon will be born at 11:06 am on August 23, and its age will be 32 hours and 17 minutes on the evening of August 24, which provides the best chances for sighting.
The Meteorological Department says that the weather is likely to be partially or completely clear in Karachi and other cities, which will increase the chances of seeing the crescent. Experts said that the moon will be visible on the horizon for about 44 minutes after sunset.
Every year, on the occasion of the arrival of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Milad gatherings, lighting of lamps and special gatherings are organized in Pakistan to highlight the importance of this blessed month. The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will collect the evidence on the evening of August 24 and will make an official announcement after Maghrib prayers. It is expected that Rabi-ul-Awwal will begin on August 25 in various parts of the world, including Pakistan.
