Major decision of the Judicial Commission: Justice Baqir Najafi appointed as a new judge of the Supreme Court


Islamabad: The name of Justice Baqir Najafi of the Lahore High Court has been cleared for the new judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan; the Judicial Commission of Pakistan meeting chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi approved his appointment by a majority vote.
According to sources, during the meeting, both members of the PTI, Barrister Gohar and Ali Zafar, also voted in favor of Justice Baqir Najafi, while the previous opposition against Justice Shujaat Ali Khan and Justice Baqir Najafi was unanimously deleted from the record.
The meeting also approved the appointment of four retired judges as members of the Judicial Commission, including: Justice Maqbool Baqir of the Sindh High Court Retired Justice of the Islamabad High Court Shaukat Siddiqui Justice Shakirullah Jan of the Peshawar High Court Justice Nazir Langoo of the Balochistan High Court is included.
