Iran’s offer likely to be rejected, Trump objects to ignoring nuclear issue

Washington: US President Donald Trump has expressed reservations about the new proposal given by Iran and termed it unsatisfactory, the main reason for which is being said to be the silence regarding the nuclear program.

According to a US official, President Trump is not happy with the proposal and has made it clear that no progress is possible by ignoring Iran’s nuclear program. He maintains that this issue is directly related to US national security.

According to sources, Donald Trump held a detailed meeting with his top security advisers on this issue, in which various aspects of the Iranian proposal were considered and a discussion was held on determining the future strategy.

Experts say that Iran’s failure to include the nuclear issue could potentially complicate the negotiations and further deepen the lack of trust between the two countries.

The development comes at a time when tensions are already high in the region and the international community is waiting for the success of the talks between the two countries.

US officials have signaled that Washington will not back down from its basic conditions in any deal and that progress appears difficult without clear assurances on Iran’s nuclear program.
