Asian Development Bank approves financial package for Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan’s economic strategy is gaining international confidence, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approving $800 million in financial assistance for Pakistan. This funding is provided in support of the government’s ongoing fiscal reforms, policy initiatives, and continued economic recovery.

According to the ADB statement, this package will play a significant role in improving Pakistan’s macroeconomic situation and fiscal sustainability. This measure will pave the way for strengthening public finance management, reducing the fiscal deficit, and expanding the development budget.

The financial package includes a $300 million loan and a $500 million guarantee, which will enable Pakistan to obtain additional funds from international financial institutions.

According to the bank, this program reinforces the government of Pakistan’s commitment to fiscal discipline, transparency, and policy reforms. ADB says that it has been a continuous partner in Pakistan’s development since 1966 and has provided more than $52 billion in assistance so far.
