Ishaq Dar meets Iranian President, agrees to increase trade and economic cooperation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held an important meeting with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Peshkeshian in Islamabad, in which it was agreed to further strengthen trade, economic and political cooperation between the two countries.

According to the Foreign Office, during the meeting, the two leaders emphasized that the relations between Pakistan and Iran are not limited to just neighborliness but are based on historical, religious and cultural foundations.

The Iranian President, thanking Pakistan for its continued support, expressed hope for the addition of new dimensions to bilateral relations. Ishaq Dar assured that Pakistan will continue cooperation with Iran at all levels, especially in the economic field.

On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister said that it has been agreed to increase the volume of bilateral trade to $ 10 billion, and both countries will take practical steps to remove obstacles to trade.
