India’s provocative statements, Kashmir report and regional security — Pakistan’s strong response

The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has taken a strong stand on India’s latest aggressive statements, the serious situation in Kashmir and the growing security complications in the region, saying that the Indian Defense Minister’s provocative statement regarding Sindh is not acceptable in any way. In a weekly media briefing, Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi gave a clear message to India, saying that such statements are not only harmful to regional peace but also increase mental chaos and tension.

He said that Pakistan has always been in favor of peaceful resolution of issues through dialogue, but India has consistently adopted an aggressive attitude. He reminded that the recent report of UN experts has once again pointed out blatant human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, where about 2,800 Kashmiris are currently in Indian custody.

The spokesperson also strongly reacted to the steps taken regarding the Babri Masjid, saying that hoisting the temple flag in place of the historic mosque is a clear expression of religious extremism, while all minorities, including Muslims, are under severe pressure in India.

Speaking about the situation in Gaza, he termed the Israeli attacks as barbaric and said that women and children are being targeted the most, which is a clear violation of international laws.

Talking about the water dispute, he said that India is not providing water information as agreed under the Indus Waters Treaty, which is a very unfortunate and dangerous trend. The spokesperson warned that this behavior reflects India’s intentions to use water as a weapon.

Regarding Afghan refugees, he said that Pakistan is taking steps under a three-tier policy and the relevant institutions are fully prepared. The spokesperson said that Afghan allegations of ISIS presence in Pakistan are baseless, as ISIS activities are limited to Afghanistan only.
