We gave a befitting reply to India and sent a message of sovereignty: President Zardari

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan has made it clear by severely hurting India’s so-called military power that we will never compromise on our sovereignty.

Commenting on the Pakistan-India tensions and the recent ceasefire, President Zardari said he had always had confidence in the capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces, navy, and air force, and the recent situation had reinforced this belief.

The President said that Pakistan gave a befitting reply to the aggression by India and made the enemy realize that Pakistan could not face any adventurism. It can also prevent success. He said that today the morale of the entire nation is high, and this spirit strengthens the foundation of the ideology of Pakistan of our ancestors.

“Faith in Allah has inspired us to stand boldly in front of a country five times bigger. President Zardari congratulated the Army Chief, Air Chief, Naval Chief, and all the forces and said that their bravery and tireless hard work made us successful.

Paying tribute to the martyrs, he asked the nation to pray for them while celebrating the victory. At the same time, he made it clear that Pakistan wants peace, does not want provocation, but will not compromise on its sovereignty.

The President said that the dream of peace in South Asia is possible only through a just resolution of disputes like Kashmir and the Indus Basin. He thanked the friendly countries, including China, the United States, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Iran, for supporting Pakistan in difficult times.
