Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (N) Punjab has decided to mobilize the party’s local organizations in view of the upcoming local body elections. The provincial leadership has directed the officials to expedite public relations and organize election activities at the grassroots level.
The meeting, chaired by the party’s provincial president Rana Sanaullah, reviewed the election preparations and organizational matters. The meeting focused on activating party activities at the division, district, tehsil and union council levels.
The PML (N) will prepare a comprehensive roadmap for the local elections. It will be presented to the party leadership for final approval.
The meeting also considered a proposal to give priority to such workers in the local body elections who did not leave the party in difficult political situations. The aim of this proposal is to bring active workers at the local level forward in the election process.
On the other hand, the issue of establishment of new provinces was also on the agenda of the meeting. Party leaders took the position that the discussion on this issue and constitutional progress should be held at the forum of parliament. Rana Sanaullah has also spoken about the parliament’s decision on the issue of new provinces in a recent conversation.
At the organizational level, the PML-N Punjab has appointed Chaudhry Javed Buta and Mohsin Ranjha as provincial vice presidents. The party’s recent activities indicate that it is focusing on making the local political structure in Punjab active for the upcoming electoral phase.
