Islamabad: Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic activities to defuse the ongoing tension in the Middle East, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has indicated that the next round of talks between the US and Iran may be held in Islamabad soon.
According to government sources, the situation in the region seems to be relatively softening after the diplomatic contacts held at the global level in recent days. In this context, Pakistan has presented itself as a country that prefers dialogue and diplomacy to resolve disputes.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is currently on a visit to China, where various global issues, including the regional situation, are being discussed. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also said in his statement that the current diplomatic progress was promising and could pave the way for lasting peace in the region. He said that Pakistan should maintain close contact with various regional countries and internationalorganisationss throughout its diplomatic activity.
