Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has announced that the upcoming talks between the US and Iran will be held in two phases, aimed at reducing tensions in the region and reaching a possible comprehensive agreement.

According to him, in the initial phase, issues such as the ceasefire, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, US naval activities and the restoration of Iran’s infrastructure after the recent conflict will be under consideration. He said that these measures are necessary for immediate stability in the region.

The Iranian Foreign Minister clarified that the second phase of the talks will be of a more technical nature, in which detailed discussions will be held on Iran’s nuclear program, uranium enrichment and the lifting of US sanctions. He said that it is not possible to reach a final agreement without progress on these issues.

According to Abbas Araqchi, the proposed memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States also indirectly involves other parties in the region, including some regional allies and groups that play an important role. He said that the current framework can provide the basis for a broader political agreement in the region.

Referring to the situation in Lebanon, he said that the conflicts in the region are interconnected and any military action or occupation can affect the negotiation process. According to him, for stability in the region, all parties must respect international laws.

Abbas Araqchi said that the current diplomatic developments are a sign that the region is entering a new phase, where dialogue and negotiations are being prioritized. He expressed hope that the upcoming talks will prove to be a step towards reducing tensions in the region and a lasting solution.
