Lahore: Gas supply has started to be affected in various cities of Punjab and consumers are facing complaints of non-availability of gas in their homes or low pressure.

According to sources, Sui Northern Gas Company has not issued an official load shedding schedule, however, gas pressure has been reduced in many areas to reduce pressure on the system.

Officials say that in view of Ramadan, gas supply is being given top priority during Sehri and Iftar times so that consumers face minimum difficulties.

On the contrary, pressure reduction at other times of the day may affect gas supply, especially in densely populated areas.

According to Sui Northern officials, a major reason for the situation is the significant reduction in RLNG supply, which was earlier around 800 million cubic feet and has now reduced to 200 million cubic feet.

He added that the current situation will be reviewed after Eid and subsequent decisions regarding gas supply will be taken thereafter.
