Karachi: The US Dollar stands firm in Pakistan’s open market, currently trading at Rs. 285.30 for buying and Rs. 286.30 for selling. As Pakistan’s most influential foreign currency, the Dollar plays a central role in import payments, international loans, and fuel settlements.
With the economy heavily dependent on dollar-based transactions, even slight fluctuations in the USD-PKR rate directly impact inflation and the cost of essential imports, including oil and machinery. Stability in the dollar rate supports Pakistan’s efforts to manage its balance of payments and keep foreign exchange reserves intact.
