High-speed diesel supply disruptions, Dealers Association identifies crisis

Islamabad: Questions have started rising on the availability of high-speed diesel in different cities of the country, and the Petrol Pump Dealers Association has informed the government about the current crisis through a letter.

The letter states that the supply of diesel has been continuously affected for the past seven days and petrol pumps are not getting diesel as per their fixed quota, as a result of which they are facing difficulty in meeting their daily needs.

Dealers also said that vehicles coming to get diesel are forced to wait in long queues for hours, while at many places pumps are being partially closed due to shortage of diesel.

The letter also expresses concern that an attempt is being made to create an artificial shortage in the market, which could affect not only transport but also the agricultural and industrial sectors.
