Islamabad: According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the weekly inflation rate in the country has been recorded at 0.4%, as a result of which many common items have become expensive.
According to the report, during the past week, the prices of 23 essential items have increased, while 9 items have become cheaper and the prices of 19 items have remained stable.
The data shows that the highest increase was in the price of tomatoes, which increased by 22.13%. Similarly, an increase of 4.94% was recorded in the price of flour, 3.76% in diesel and 3.73% in petrol.
According to economists, the increase in fuel and food prices is having a direct impact on overall inflation, which is affecting the purchasing power of ordinary consumers.
