Electricity Prices Cut for January Bills: NEPRA Approves Relief for Consumers

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a cut in power costs for customers. A reduction of 75 paisa per unit has been granted for state-run DISCOs (Distribution Companies), while 49 paisa per unit has been cut for K-Electric customers.

According to reports, the price reductions were made via the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FCA) method. The decrease corresponds to the FCA for November for state-run DISCOs and the FCA for October for K-Electric.

NEPRA has formally sent notices on the reductions, noting that customers will see this relief on their January power bills. The action aims to reduce the public’s financial burden in the face of growing energy expenses.
