The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel once again, adding further pressure on consumers amid rising fuel costs.
According to a notification issued by the government, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs6.88 per litre, while high-speed diesel has become Rs5.62 per litre more expensive.
Following the latest revision, petrol will now be available at Rs391.22 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs421.45 per litre.
The new prices will take effect from midnight and will remain applicable for the next pricing period.
The latest increase is expected to raise transportation and operating costs, with its impact likely to be felt across sectors that rely heavily on petroleum products.
Petrol and diesel prices are revised daily by the government based on changes in international oil prices, exchange rate movements and other applicable petroleum-related adjustments.
