The US dollar to PKR rate is moving in a narrow range in Pakistan on 21 May 2026, reflecting a controlled but demand-driven foreign exchange environment.
In the open market, the US dollar is being traded at Rs. 279.00 buying and Rs. 279.60 selling, while in the interbank market, it is being recorded at Rs. 278.50 buying and Rs. 279.00 selling.
The movement of the dollar is continuing to influence import costs, particularly energy and industrial inputs, while Pakistan’s external trade payments are remaining sensitive to minor fluctuations in the currency.
Overall, the rupee is showing stability but is still under mild pressure due to external payment requirements.
