ISLAMABAD: Diplomatic efforts for possible talks between Iran and the US have intensified, with Iran presenting new proposals through Pakistan.
According to Al Jazeera, Iranian diplomatic sources have confirmed that Pakistan is acting as the central mediator in the process.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that although several countries are seeking assistance in the process, Pakistan has the role of formal mediator.
He said that Tehran has presented its proposals for a ceasefire and negotiations, but the holding of the talks is subject to a final decision and will be announced at the appropriate time.
Meanwhile, a clear message has also been given by Iran’s Supreme Judiciary. Iranian Chief Justice Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei said that negotiations will not be acceptable under any kind of pressure or unilateral conditions.
Iran also considered its strategic relations with Russia as important, which strengthen its diplomatic and security position in the region.
