Karachi: Currency exchange counters across Pakistan are staying busy today as citizens are checking fresh open market rates for major foreign currencies. From the US Dollar to Gulf currencies, steady movement is continuing while remittances are flowing into the country.
The Dollar is currently selling near Rs282.25 while buying at Rs280.55, and traders are closely watching it because most imports are linked to the American currency.
At the same time, the UK Pound is trading at Rs384.67 buying and Rs388.18 selling, keeping its position as a premium foreign currency for families receiving funds from Britain.
For Gulf countries, the Saudi Riyal is exchanging at Rs74.92 and Rs75.30, and the UAE Dirham is moving between Rs76.55 and Rs77.20, as thousands of Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia and the UAE are regularly sending money back home.
The Canadian Dollar is being traded at Rs204.37 buying and Rs207.90 selling, reflecting growing migration and education trends. Meanwhile, the Omani Riyal is standing strong at Rs728.60 buying and Rs738.13 selling, offering significant value when converted into rupees.
Overall, the market is showing calm behavior, and people are comfortably exchanging currencies for travel, fees, and family support while the open market remains stable.
