There was volatility in the trading activities of the KSE-100 index. The index clung to a large range of 5,048 points for the week. The stock rose to 181,158 points at its highest level and fell to 176,110 points at its lowest.

According to the data, a total of 4.22 billion shares were traded in the stock market during the week. The aggregate value of these deals was around Rs 205 billion, implying huge business activity in the market.

However, the overall market capitalisation of the stock market fell too. By the end of the week, the market capitalisation decreased by Rs 247 billion to Rs 19,882 billion.

The weekly chart indicates that although there was still some trading volume in the market, the price pressure took over. The index’s high and low readings also showed a big spread, suggesting that investors experienced volatility this week.

Overall, the Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a down week, and traders will closely watch the market performance of the coming business days in anticipation of various policy announcements, economic indicators and key developments.
