Islamabad – Religious Madaras can now register with the Ministry of Industry and Production instead of the Ministry of Education. This is a big change to the law. This happened after the president signed off on the Societies Registration Act, a law passed by lawmakers to deal with madrassa registration.

The bill, which is now a law, became official when the National Assembly put out a public notice. In addition to passing the Act, the President also issued an order to change the Societies Registration Act 2024.

A spokesman for the Presidency made it clear that madaras in the federal capital can now choose which ministry to register with, the Ministry of Industry and Production or the Ministry of Education. At the same time, an official from the National Assembly Secretariat said that the problem had been solved peacefully and that all applications now follow the new Societies Act.

This important step came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman met not long ago. During that meeting, the Prime Minister promised to fully cooperate in handling worries about the registration of Islamic schools.

The changes to the law are meant to make administration more flexible and improve communication between schools and government agencies. This is a big step towards modernising and simplifying the registration process.
