The first prize, worth a staggering Rs. 1,500,000, was awarded to the lucky holder of bond number 560977. This top-tier prize is a major windfall for the winner, highlighting the continued popularity of the prize bond scheme as a secure and potentially lucrative investment for the general public.

In addition to the grand prize, the second prize category saw three winners, each walking away with Rs. 500,000. The winning numbers for the second prize are 924818, 012592, and 152138. Furthermore, the third prize category brought joy to a much larger group, with 1,696 lucky winners receiving Rs. 9,300 each. These results have brought a wave of excitement across the country as participants rush to verify their bond numbers against the official list.

For those lucky enough to have their numbers drawn, it is essential to understand the tax implications and the process for claiming the prize money. Under current government regulations, all prize bond winnings are subject to a Withholding Tax based on the winner’s tax filing status.

For individuals categorized as active taxpayers (Filers), a 15% tax will be deducted at source from the total prize amount. However, for those who are non-taxpayers (Non-Filers), a significantly higher tax rate of 30% is applicable. This policy is part of the government’s broader effort to encourage more citizens to join the formal tax net.

Winners are advised that they have a generous window to claim their prizes. According to the National Savings Division, prize money can be claimed within six years from the date of the draw. To collect the winnings, bondholders must present the original prize bond along with a copy of their CNIC at any branch of the State Bank of Pakistan or National Savings Centers.
