Nawaz Sharif meets former Binance CEO Chang Ping Zhao and agrees to promote digital economy in Pakistan

Lahore – PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif met Chang Ping Zhao, the former CEO and founder of global cryptocurrency platform Binance, in Lahore. Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz and CEO of Pakistan Crypto Council Bilal bin Saqib were also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, Chang Ping Zhao was welcomed to be appointed as a strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council. On the occasion, detailed discussions were held on digital assets, blockchain technology, and promoting youth engagement in the technology sector.

According to the statement, Chang Ping Zhao highlighted the emerging blockchain technology and global entrepreneurship opportunities in Pakistan. He said that Pakistan has the potential to become a regional hub in the digital economy.

During the conversation, Nawaz Sharif said that international personalities like Chang Ping Zhao open new avenues of development. Pakistan is ready to adopt innovative changes and modern technologies. He said Pakistan has to adapt itself to the demands of the future.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that the Punjab government is enabling the youth to participate in the global digital market by teaching them IT skills. He said that our focus is on knowledge-based technology so that the new generation can be taken forward in the field of digital enterprise and modern business.

According to the statement, during the meeting, Chang Ping Zhao appreciated the digital skills of Pakistani youth and said that with their appointment, Pakistan will move towards becoming a regional hub in the field of Web3 and digital finance. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance mutual cooperation for digital transformation, blockchain, and development of future technologies.
