Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directs immediate relief operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed immediate relief operations after the severe devastation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The Prime Minister contacted the Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lieutenant General Inam Haider, and said that immediate relief should be provided to the victims by utilizing all available resources in the affected areas.

PM Shehbaz Sharif directed the NDMA to remain in constant touch with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government so that relief activities are carried out effectively and in an organized manner. The Prime Minister said that the government is fully engaged in providing all possible facilities to the people and no precious time will be wasted.

According to NDMA sources, relief teams have reached the affected areas and steps are being taken to provide food, medical aid and temporary shelter. The government’s efforts are expected to provide immediate relief to the victims, and cooperation with international relief organizations is also being increased.
