Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is extremely worried about the fact that 60 polio cases have been found in the country this year. While launching the final polio vaccination campaign of the year at the Prime Minister’s House, he stated that the government is completely committed to getting rid of polio from the country. He is also asking parents to ensure that their children receive the polio vaccination drops, as the recent cases have quite serious implications. He is thankful for the support that international partners have shown in the eradication of polio, especially to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Saudi Arabia, and the World Health Organization.

He wants to collaborate with provincial governments to eliminate polio completely. He is appreciative of the efforts of the Saudi Crown Prince to completely eliminating the disease from Pakistan. He has also welcomed all partners that are involved in the polio eradication campaign and has noted that the vaccination initiative has been introduced to protect children from polio.

He also thanked community health workers that are taking part in the nationwide polio campaign and appreciated the cooperation of law enforcement agencies.
