Islamabad, Pakistan: The performance report for the first parliamentary year of the current government, spanning from February 29, 2024, to February 28, 2025, has been released, revealing key details of legislative activities and accountability measures in the National Assembly.

According to the document, lawmakers posed a total of 1,677 questions, with 1,341 answered and 336 left unanswered. The Interior Division faced the highest number of queries at 248, followed by the Power Division with 164 and the Finance Division with 103, while the National Security Division received only 2 questions. During this period, 29 government bills and 54 private bills were introduced, with 10 private members’ bills approved and 42 acts passed.

Additionally, 24 resolutions were adopted. The report highlights the Assembly’s legislative productivity but also raises concerns over unanswered questions, underscoring the need for greater transparency and responsiveness from government departments moving forward.
